task bar and register editing

    ok i want to edit what starts up on my task tray when i boot my pc. i tryed msconfig but that doesn't work in windows 2000. so if anyone knows what i can do to do this please respond to this thread.

    You can go to control panel, administrative tool, and the services. You can double click on a service and then pick manual, disable, or automatic. I THINK this will do it. Document whatever you do. Also, try the startup folder. Hope this helps

    yea i deleted icons in start up first and that helped but the sevices folder didn't help. im thinking its in the regestry but in not sure where to look and what to take out when i do find it.

    Right-click on My Computer and select Manage to run Computer Management. Select Startup Programs in System Information and click Advanced from the View menu to list registry locations. Can then locate using regedit.

    Or use a tool...
