T-Bird cant send mail (Gmail) Error

    Hi, I have T-Bird with my Gmail account on it. Never had a problem over the past year but did a new clean install of XP. Now when I try to send a e-mail (Gmail) I get [An error occured while sending mail. The mail server responded :
    5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. 8sm5755466qwj.56. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail Prefrences and try again. I've looked and I think everything is setup correct. Maybe I'm missing something??

    Post all of your settings that you have setup and the post the setting Gmails says to use and we'll help compare em;)

    In other words, look in Gmail's help/setup section and look again.

    I did follow the config perfectly, especially check marking the SSL . I'm stumped. Maybe its a corrupted Download people? I greceive my mail from GMAIL just fine. I'll uninstall T-Bird completely including the registry, everything and download another one. Thanks everyone, I'l let the Post know how I make out.

    Settings for gmail smtp:

    Port 587
    Use TLS.
