System32 - make it go away!!

    Hello

    :confused: I have been happily using Windows XP for several months now. In the last couple of weeks, I have had a "System32" window open everytime I go to sign on - it comes up on the desktop just after windows has loaded. I close the box and the PC carrys on working.

    How can I get rid of this window - all answers in easy terms please

    Hello kate,

    Start > run > type msconfig > ok.

    Startup tab: is there a blank line? If so, uncheck.
