I use an IBM T21 laptop and upgraded to XPP from Win2K. When I put the system in "StandBy ", I subsequently cannot restore it, and all I can do is a cold reboot. I ugraded the BIOS from the IBM site. Help appreciated.

I had a similar problem when installed a parallel board (CompUSA brand). Turned out the board was only partially XP compatible. Merely placing it in the computer killed the monitor, keyboard and front power button whenever I tried to resume from either standby or hibernate. Manufacturer of the board admitted it, recommended I buy a different brand. . lol

Suggest you check all your hardware AND the hardware drivers for XP compatibility.

A list of compatible hardware can be found at:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/catalogshell/shell.asp?subid=22&page=3

May also want browse the various microsoft service articles about stanby/hibernation problems at: http://search.support.microsoft.com...=BOOLEAN&Titles=false&numDays=&maxResults=150

Hey - somebody tell me how i can make those links shorter.
