What is key usage of using System State backup?
What is difference between System State backup and System Restore?
Is any difference if I restore my computer with System State backup rather than System Restore?

This is what Windows XP's backup utility says about System State.

    System State
In Backup, a collection of system-specific data that can be backed up and restored. The System State data includes the registry, the COM Class Registration database, and the system boot files. For servers, the System State data also includes the Certificate Services database (if the server is operating as a certificate server). If the server is a domain controller, the System State data also includes the Active Directory directory services database and the SYSVOL directory.

Or, If you go to Start\Help and Support, and do a search on System Restore, you will have a detailed description of System Restore.

System Restore colects system-specific data also (registry, etc.)
Question is,does system restoration with System State is the same with System Restore?

    Not sure DynamicD

For this reason I have System Restore turned on and regularly backup my System State. Might be doubleing up here, but better safe than sorry.
