When new software titles are installed or updated a System Restore point is no longer available since 5/03/2015 being the last restore point. Using Revo to uninstal a file or software it made a system restore point prior to deletion of software, this has also stopped as it shows "Restore Point Failed ". How can I instal System Restore point again.

BobbyScot, are we talking about the same computer A Virus possibility.?

If yes, please let broni take care of it before doing anything further.

All my posts refer to the same computer. Current error only started up a few days ago, to be precise 5/03/2015. I think it was after using "tweaking.com_windows_repair now ". Several other software titles were removed by this software and required to be reinstalled. Software was recommended in another Thread of mine.

    May the 3rd - 2015 hasn't happened yet;)

When you go back to double check the date - look and see that the restore option is Enabled.

    Steve,

BobbyScot may be using date format that shows day/month rather than month/day.

Good point....since he's on the other side of the big blue pond.... But he still needs to make certain the restore function is enabled.

A Restore point was tried, with error "Catastrophic error 0x800ffff ". Ran a sfc /scannow, refers to "found several errors, unable to repair ". Points out to CBS logs to find out files corrupted/damaged. Search of computer shows no reference to CBS logs.

Your Windows appears to be damaged either by virus/malware or some other cause. I won't advice you to try to repair it. Better backup the data, reformat, reload OS & restore. Works every time !

CBS.log has now surfaced, however on clicking CBS.log a caption shows "Access Denied ".

Copy the file to the Desktop - it should open from there.

You will find the contents fairly incomprehensible :)
