I'm having multiple problems with my computer, running XP Home with SP2. It started a while ago with the SQL Server error message "SQL server corrupt - SQLEVN70.RLL not found' then, after I replaced my HD with a bigger one, my system restore is 'unavailable' with this message "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem" followed by "Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem ". My Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0 required re-activation after the HD swap, but the re-activation will not stick, it just keeps telling me I need to re-activate and closes. My mouse pointer has gone spastic, jumping all over the screen and self-activating the screen scroll and pop-up menus without benefit of my directions. For a while programs were crashing or self-opening (limewire) repeatedly. When I went to re-install Acrobat 7.0 from cd,
the install file was not recognized - worked just fine on my laptop with XP Pro. Both Limewire and iTunes 'disappeared from my 'Add/Remove Programs' list. Finally, when I decided that a recovery might be in order, the recovery console is not available. Have done several virus/spyware/adware/registry scans with little improvement. Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks, George

    Hello George,

Do a repair of the OS and then go from there.

    http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Before you do, uninstall all the problematic applications, do the repair, then re install your apps and MS updates.

If in this process, System Restore doesn't get fixed, SR itself will have to be re installed - post back in any event.

If you haven't already, start backing up user data while you have the chance.

    Regads - Charles
