[System] Restore, Pick a time

    I would like to pick which days a new restore point is made. Can this be done.

    Hello wahlroot,

    You can if you create a manual restore point - the option is there in the SR control panel.

    You can stop the OS from creating one automatically by disabling Task Manger in XP Services, but that's problematic if you have other tasks.

    You can change the frequency of the auto restore points by:

    Look in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\S ystemRestore and at the value of RPGlobalInterval.

    86,400 seconds = 24 hours - the default.

    259,200 is three days.

    The interval can be changed here by you.

    I changed your thread title to make clear that its System Restore you're asking about.

    Thanks a bunch, charlesvar. The Registry change is what I was looking for. I will mess around in it. And thanks for the change to System. My memory is getting shorter.
