    Hi all,

I got to wondering how many MBs a single System Restore Point required and checked to see how much space was allocated to SR.

My system is set to 7% (415MB) on my C:\ partition (the entire XP Pro w\SP1a disk is 535MBs so I figure 7% is OK) and I noticed that System Restore was turned on for my D:\ and E:\ partitions as well.

My OS (and any programs that won't let me install elsewhere) is on my C:\ partition. All my programs are installed on my D:\ partition and all the rest of my stuff (pics, movies, etc.)(basically just a storage area) in on the E:\ partition.

Question: Is it necessary to have System Restore on my D:\ and E:\ partitions? It's not a question of "I need the space ", but of "Do I need it "?

    Thanks.

There is no point in enabling System Restore on any drive other that the root drive, C:\. System restore covers only system files and there are none on other drives.

You don't need it. You are better off with a proper backup plan.
