System Restore - frequency

How often should System Restore run? Every 24 hours or just when pc has been started/restarted? I have allocated 7% of my 32G hard drive to it. Should it be higher? I don't turn the pc off every night or restart it often.

You can see that one "occasion" is that points are automatically created every 24 hours if the PC is on and if it is idle. You can change that time interval. If you want more info please post back.
7% is the maximum that is generally recommended. I think you can reduce that if you are running out of disk space. It just means you won't have so many Restore points. But I think you will find you have several weeks--maybe even months--worth with 7%.

I believe SR is SUPPOSED to make a RP everyday. But I have found that it may not. This morning I was going to make some changes so I checked and found that no RP had been made for two days. Good thing I checked.

I pretty much take SR under my own personal control anyway as I have found that it can not be fully trusted all the time.

Before I make any changes I check to be sure there is a recent RP. If a recent one does not exist then I make one. Most of the time I make one anyway just to be sure that I do have a recent one. But in either case I still check to be sure.
