Resolved System Requirements for Windows 7

    I'm in the process of building a new machine and have pre-ordered at a locked in price the MB and CPU.

    This is what I will be starting with but haven't found that much information on max and min system requirements for 7. I'm really concerned about the 4 DDR2 slots and what is the max W7 can use(8GB's?) I'm aware of the video-DX-10(Just like Vista-this machine and the video is underpowered) I don't want to make the same mistake again.

    If anyone can help with some high and low end requirements I would appreciate it much.

    Here's a mem list for Vista. It's real safe to assume Win7 will be the same or better:

    32-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate: 4GB
    32-bit Windows Vista Starter: 1GB
    64-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Basic: 8GB
    64-bit versions of Windows Vista Home Premium: 16GB
    64-bit versions of Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate: 128GB

    There are no max system requirements....

    Windows 7 system requirements

    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
