    Hardware/Software:

    Samsung SyncMaster 955df 19inch CRT (purchaned 7/27/02)
PNY Gforce 6200 (using drivers that came with, updating causes problems in games)
Windows XP Home (updated with SP2)

My screen fonts inside windows are so amazingly out of focus, a few seconds of viewing causes my eyes to tear up. On the windows desktop, in browsers, in *.txt and *.doc's the blur is unreal. In games it is crystal clear with amazing quality.

Ive found absoutly no help from windows or samsung ive changed every option i can think of including: resolution, refresh rate, and drivers. Ive installed new updated video card drivers and the only thing that changed was my in-game experience so ive re-installed the drivers that came with the purchase of my vidcard. Ive also dug out the cd that game with the monitor and installed its software, which ive never done before, and stilll no improvement.

Id really love some help or insight as to what the hell is going on ..but if i read one more suggestion telling me to adjust clear type i swear ill go on a rampage. To repeat: THIS IS NOT A CLEAR TYPE ISSUE.

    Thanks

Do you have "TweakUI for Windows XP" installed? There is a repair option in it that says "repair font folder "

If you don't have it, I'm sure you can find it with a Google search.

    Just guessing here.....

Find and install the motherboard/chipset drivers recommended by the motherboard manufacturer. Let us know if you need help finding them.

Have you tested the monitor on another computer?

    Monitor Calibration

    Adjust your monitor

Simple guide to setup a CRT monitor

I have found that with my MX4000 altering the settings have made a big difference.

Right click the Desktop > Properties > Settings tab > Advanced button > Tab with my graphics card name > Performance & Quality settings > Color correction > Digital Vibrance = Medium or High, Brightness about 85%, Contrast = 100%, Gamma close to 1.8 and Color profile = Standard. I have the resolution set to 1024 X 768, refresh 75 Hertz and Color quailty set to Highest (32 bit). I used the above sites to set my colors and fine tune using the monitor adjustment control.
