I downloaded Sysintemal autoruns software which details all files used by Windows 7 at bootup. To enable a faster instal each time computer is started. Any programs that do not require to be run, software name can be unticked. One danger is if Sysintemal is remove from the computer, any changes made can not be rectified. I note reference to three titles Bother serial IF driver, Brother USB TDM driver, Brother serial driver. Do these references apply to the Brother Printers, as HP computers installed similar software in their computers. Regards.

Do you have a Brother printer?

When in doubt - don't do anything;)

Thanks for your prompt reply. All my printers over the years have been Epson. My question was to learn if Windows 7 had included this in their OS. Too many unneccessary files can bring a computer to snail pace in operation but lack of knowledge can also reek havoc..
