    Greetings,

We have figured so far that our scheduled tasks do not run for our users UNLESS we specify that users password for that specific task. This is BS! We have far to many users to configure.

There must be a way to config the task to run when any user is logged onto the workstation and not have to use that users password.

Besides, when running a a complex password policy, our users have to change their passwords more often than not.

Again this is for and Win XP Pro Client Loggin onto a Windows 2003 Server with AD.

As I stated, I can enter the current logged on users password and the task will run perfectly!.......BUT what happens when the user is forced to change their password......the scheduled task fails to run at that point forward.

Does anyone have suggestions. Thanks in advance.

    - Create a domain admin account for doing scheduled tasks on all systems that need something scheduled that requires full access. Give the account a very strong password that is set to not expire. AS long as you are setting up the job, the user won't need to worry about it or know any details.

    - Set the task up to run as the local admin account on each PC.

    - Push the job down by script.

ok...this makes total since. I have a local account named administrator. This password is set to never expire. I know that from testing with this account the task does run correctly.

So, what might I be looking for to set my script up correctly. Like right now I am using a VBS Script to map network drives and provide network printers.

Would I want to put this new task into my current script or should I add a new script?

Scripting is somewhat gray for me...I appreciate your help here and your thoughts.

I look forward to your reply.

I would write and test the script as a seperate item but once it's solid, no reason it shouldn't be in the master script.

Xtremerunnerars, aren't you the lawyer's kid that stole a laptop and then messed it up with Daddy's files on it? The one who knows so much about computers that you teach the teachers? Perhaps you'd be happier posting on another forum. We use courtesy and manners here, engage in ethical behavior, and are smart enough to figure out how XP works.

    Keyer, Kevin & Michael,

Is this the same poster and problem , or are we addressing three different ones? I am so lost at this point that I'm not sure what exactly the question is. However, I accept responsibility for that, not gonna blame an innocent OS for operator error.
