Sybot\Ad-aware

Is it necessary to get Sybot\Ad-aware updates on a regular basis, such as every two days or so?
So far I only get the updates about once a month when I scan my hard drive.

I see no problem since you are pest aware. But at the first sign of trouble I would update before the scan.

Must have dialup as it only takes 30 seconds or so to update on cable.

mopar--Why not be as up to date as you can? Ad-Aware has a "check for updates now" button on the opening page. Use it--perhaps once a week. Or go to the Lavasoft Forum
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/
where the first post will tell you if a new Reference file is available. (There is no particular schedule for the updates.)
I suspect Spybot has similar options.
