I have been asked to find a software program that will make a cd-rom that will contain our companies product data sheets as well as some videos for a trade show that is coming up very soon. We will be making about 100 disks to hand out to prospective buyers.

We purchased AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0, were told that we would be emailed the download within 48 hours... once emailed and downloaded (2 business days later) when clicked I get "Show.exe not a valid Win32 application "...

When I call for tech support, I am told to generate a web ticket that will be answered in the order that it is made and could take 24 hours... or I could purchase a priority support ticket. So, I call the Sales Department to discuss with them that I don't think that I should have to pay for priority support since I just bought the program, but the sales office is closed because it is Columbus day... (figures)

The boss is not too happy about that, so we are going to contact the credit card company and get our money back, and as I said, I need some suggestions for a program...

I dont know of any software that automates what you want, but you could create a cd-based website and run your media files from there. It all depends on how much time you have and your ability to build websites.

There are lots of free templates and such on the net that should give you a start. PDF files and some media files such as flash etc will run within a web browser. If you want to run locally installed software such as word or excel, there is a product called Intralaunch, available from Here that I have used successfully.

There is also a product called Xtreme Sitexpert that is great for building dynamic menus.

Both pieces of software need to be paid for but for a coporate promotion they are good value.

Once you have something to put on cd a simple "autorun" text file will do its stuff.

Hope my thoughts are of some use.
