Unsure as to where this should go:

    WinXP-SP3 installed.

Wanted to install a new CA AV program so uninstalled old one and installed new one. In the middle of this I got a window that said "could not set some or all of your changed options: please check if you have sufficent rights to modify settings on this computer ". When I go to enable protection I get the same message.

    ????

When I boot up, only one user option comes up (taxprep1) but no option to select for administrator or anything that would indicate that there is an administrator setting.

I know this is confused, but so am I.

    TIA!

Thanks! I did that but to no avail as the sign on I was using WAS the administrator. I finally gave up, un-installed CA and then re-installed it and it went in like "kissing yer sister ".

Dunno what the issue was but it probably was a failed install rather than not having "sufficient permissions ".

Appreciated the help, tho. Now I know how to do that for future reference.
