Without warning this morning when I opened Outlook 2010 (ver 14.0.6123.5001) the Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items folders were missing from the folder view in the navigation column.

I searched and ran the Scanpst.exe file from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 folder but nothing was resolved - see attached TXT log file

When I look at the PST file, it is a shadow of the size of the backed up PST file. I have a perpetual backup so I don't fear losing anything but this is aggravating

It is one of two POP3 accounts I have in Outlook - the other is OK.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated

Since the pst is much smaller - all is probably gone.

By default - two email accounts would each have their own pst file... In the folder view you'd see each set of Inbox's.... Do both account show up in folder view? Do you maybe need to "Expand" the missing folders?

Do both accounts show up under ACCOUNT settings?

If you search on some of the errors show in your log, you'll see (at least in the few that I checked) that there's no cause/solution.

I'd restore the backup & move on.

After searching exhaustively, I restored the backup and we are back to normal... would like to know why it happened though.
    Thanks

scanpst is not intended to repair pst file with high corruptions, In such conditions repair tools like Kernel for Outlook PST Repair works like a charm and repair corrupted pst files and get backs access to all email items.
