When selecting normal startup in msconfig it does not take but reverts to selective startup

Hi bananaball, More info please. What were you doing in msconfig?
Have you altered anything in Startup? Did you click on Apply? Neil.

Hi bananaball. I believe this behavior is by design in Windows 8.1. Changing the startup selection in the System Configuration Utility will not work. You can use the new Windows 8 Task Manager to manage startup items or you can download Autoruns and use that program to look at your startup entries.

OK - Thanks for the response.
I do use Autorun to control startup stuff.
I was trying to determine what change in behavior would occur with normal startup.
Seems odd to have a startup selection that does nothing.
