A while back I spilled liquid on my cheapo Toshiba laptop keyboard. Certain keys didn't work, and I had to have the keyboard replaced. This am when I booted up, the exact same keys were not working. No liquid spilled this time.

I left the computer on for awhile and tried again. This time more keys worked, but they typed two letters. For example, the a which a few minutes ago had not worked at all, now typed ai. Encouraged by this small success (?) I left the computer on a little longer and tried again. The keyboard now works perfectly.

    What gives?

p.s. I have not been drinking, nor do I smoke anything.

    Funny you should ask!

So did every repair shop I called.

To give you a hint, the work order said "The Case of the Kahlua'ed Keyboard." Which I thought was very unfair, because there was some coffee in it. :D

But I swear, I haven't had a drop since. Now I drink diet Shasta Grapefruit. Honest.

Fancy spoiling a good vodka by mixing it with coffee - shame on you!

As to the actual cause of the problem - I have no idea  Maybe the laptop had been traumatized by the Kahlua spill and was suffering a flashback!

Just a thought - the laptop could have gotten very cold that night. Could that possibly have done it?
