Strange problem when clicking My Computer...

    I just noticed this problem, when i doubleclick my computer it takes 30 + seconds for something to appear in the window. Once there is the drives in there it is fast when i click on one of them to explore the contents.

    This happens weather i'm connected to my network or not.

    I have a laptop and a Xircom PCMCIA network card, i upgraded the driver but that didnt change anything, i made sure all my IP and DNS setting were correct. I didnt install any new software or make any cahnges.

    Can someone tell me what to look for? I'm running windows 2000. IE 6.0 svcpak 3, could it be a hot fix?

    A few possibilities:

    1. A service is disabled or set to manual that should be set to automatic.
    2. Memory being consumed by other processes.
    3. Memory leaking application.
    4. Disk need cleanup and defrag.
