Strange File server issue - can't view properties of a file

We have a win2k file server exhibiting some strange behavior.
It is patched-current (SP4) and running current AV.

\\fileserver\public\folder
\\fileserver\public\folder\file1.doc
\\fileserver\public\folder\file2.doc

I can right click over the folder to preview the folder properties
I can not view the file properties.
I keep getting the message: "The properties for this item are not available "

I can see the files in the folder
I can see that a file is 80kb created on 1/15/04

But I can not copy, move...or do anything to the file, from within Explorer.

I was hoping to salvage the file...Got any ideas

 

Never mind...problem solved.

I renamed the parent folder and now I have access to the files.
