Strange Cursor and some click-type noises?

Hiya!

Whenever I hit this BBS (yes, right here!), I get a wierd cursor and some click-type noises. The cursor looks like the standard "hand ", but with a yellow/red explosion burst with exclamation mark in it in the lower right corner of the hand. Have run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, Norton AV2003 and found nothing. Running XPPro and IE6...

You got a google toolbar with the popup stopper. or something similar? Google's does this on the ONE popback banner that this site has.

Using google, I notice that as I view the site and the other co-sites such as infinsource and rosecity, or use backbutton the popup sound will continue as the script for the popback is called at intervals. If I allow the popback to load and rest in the back as designed, I will not get a sound or call for this again. [google allows popup killer override by using the shift key].

On the flip side, if I allow google to keep killing this popup it will do so over and over again, with the hand, zap and flame.

I did notice that the popback was blank with the white_with_redx box in the upper left hand corner. Url indicated it to be http://zpay.com/PopupTest/SystemCheck.htm which is the ad for "System Stability wizard ". The banner still clicked through to "Rosecity ". Don't know why I didn't have a pic. Maybe it's me, and I haven't noticed this till now.

 

goddez1 --My zpay popup window is also blank. Probably because I have so many sites in HOSTS and Restricted Sites. Unfortunately it still is a pop-up window and, worse yet, a pop-over. Another time waster since about October 1 on this site. I do not have any popup stopper.
I presume you saw the very long thread on ActiveX problems with WindowsBBS also starting in early October.

 

Hey, I DO have the Google toolbar, and now that you mention it, I remember seeing something about "stopping a popup" in the status bar! The cursor and "click" are somewhat delayed after showing a page, so that must be it.

Goddez1 - I also have a HUGE host file that blocks a bunch of trash sites, and whenever it does so, I get a "broken picture" or "broken link" icon where the item supposed to be. Might that be your situation?
