Well, my new HP is acting up already! Heres the problem: Sometimes the computer tower will make a 'zap' type sound followed by a click that you would hear when you first turn on the computer. Sometimes the app I'm using will freeze for a moment after it happens; I can move the mouse, thats all. The hard drive light stays on while it happens also. But I remember once, while using Adaware, it was checking the RAM it had a clicking episode and I had to turn the computer off. A week later or so the computer just turned off, and when turned on it wouldn't get to the Windows load screen. I had to do a full system recovery that time. Does anyone know what it could be, it's going to be the death of my computer I know it!

This doesn't sound too good :( As the computer is new I think a call to HP would be in order.

It's difficult to analyse your problem simply from your description, but the only components likely to 'click' are the hard drive and floppy drive and I would lean towards the former.

From the description of your problem it sounds like the power supply is bad...maybe a short circuit from the sounds of it. Probably has affected the hard drive and its now ruined. I would return it to HP ASAP for replacement or repair.
