I would like to store a string (say login name "ABC ") in function key say F1 key so that I need not type the login name when required but simply press the F1 key. How to do this in XP?

    nagaraj45 - Welcome to the Board :)

I am not at all sure that you can do that and even if you could I doubt it would work as at the logon stage in XP your User Profile has not been loaded.

If you want to automatically logon to XP at boot have a look at this KB article .... How to turn on automatic logon in Windows XP, specifically the last section starting ....
More here - including use of Tweakui XP

What I am more interested is to know whether it is possible to store strings in function keys, Is it possible to say store "ABC" in F1 by assigning values to environment variables?
