    Hello Stang,
Sticky notes are exactly as described. Much like the papered stickies (Post Its) that you can buy anywhere, theses are computer generated:

Never used them my self but you may find them useful.

    Stang,

In your quick launch section on the taskbar (bottom left corner of the window), you will see the sticky note icon. Just click on that and it will put a sticky note on your desktop. You can resize that note by grabbing a corner and resizing it, just like a drag and drop. If you place your cursor at the top of the sticky note, you will see an "X" and "+ ". Clicking on the "X" will delete the sticky note and the "+" will add another sticky note. Also, if you right click on the sticky note, you will be able to choose a different color for your sticky note. You can also copy and paste to and from the sticky note.

Hopefully, that helps a little bit.

    Mike

    Hi Stang,

Frankly I am a lot surprised you are having difficulty understanding the directions in the link I gave you. They just don't get much easier than that. I would be happy to reword the directions a bit but they would still be largely what the link and sublink provides. You do know that the "lines in blue" are links that expand and open on the directions on how to work with sticky notes, don't you: Just in case:

To create a new sticky note

    >Open Sticky Notes by tapping the Start button Picture of the Start button. >In the search box, type Sticky Notes,
    >in the list of results click on "Sticky Notes" .
    >To create additional notes, click the New Note button. (+ sign in the upper left corner)
    >You can also open a new note by pressing Ctrl+N.
    >To resize a note, drag an edge or corner of the note to make it larger or smaller.

To delete a sticky note: (When you've finished using a note)
    >Click the Delete Note button. (the X symbol in the upper right hand corner)
    >In the Sticky Notes dialog box, click Yes.
You can also delete a note by pressing Ctrl+D.

NOTE*Sticky Notes closes if you delete all of your notes. To create a new note, reopen Sticky Notes.

    Customize:
To change the color of a sticky note
    >Right-click the note that you want to change, and then click a color.

To format text in a sticky note
You can format text, add bullets to make a list, or change the text size by using keyboard shortcuts. Here's how:

1.Select the text that you want to change.
2.Use the following keyboard shortcuts to format the text on your note:
    Bold text Ctrl+B

    Italic text Ctrl+I

    Underlined text Ctrl+U

    Strikethrough Ctrl+T

    Bulleted list Ctrl+Shift+L
NOTE*(Press this keyboard shortcut again to switch to a numbered list.)

    Increased text size Ctrl+Shift+>

    Decreased text size Ctrl+Shift+<

    -----------------
As shown in the picture via the link I had previously given, once sticky notes is open there is a small + symbol in the upper left hand corner. This is the button to click on to open a "new note ". On the upper right corner is a small "X ". This is to close or delete the note.

I hope the above directions are easier for you to follow. If not let me know.

I copied the following from Dummies .com

The Sticky Notes accessory enables you to plaster the electronic equivalent of good old-fashioned Post-It notes all over your Windows 7 desktop. You can use Sticky Notes in Windows 7 as onscreen reminders: you can even color code them to help you stay organized.

They remain securely wherever you put them on the desktop until you delete them!

To create a Sticky Note, click Start→All Programs→Accessories→Sticky Notes.Windows opens a new blank note on the desktop, positioning the cursor at the beginning of the note.

    Regards

    Ken
