    Hello,

My mini laptop is having trouble starting up. First, it will turn on (very slowly). Then, it goes straight to Startup Repair where it tells me that it cannot fix the problem automatically. The screen never goes passed this for me to login to access my computer.

I am currently on my other one.

I just now had a prompt appear called: System Recovery Options. I clicked on system restore, and no restore point has been created it says. It then tells me to click "System Protection" to create a restore point, then says: "Your computer is running in a limited diagnostic state. If you use System Restore in this limited state, you cannot undo the restore operation. "

I do not know what exactly this means so I did not confirm it.

Hi Ratchet. When your computer boots up to the System Recovery Options, click the System Restore option and choose a System Restore Point prior to when this problem occurred. Hopefully System Restore will restore the computer to an earlier time and allow your machine to boot into Windows.

If System Restore fails, then when you get to the System Recovery Options click on Command Prompt. When the Command Prompt window opens type the following commands and press enter after each one:

    BootRec.exe /fixmbr
    BootRec.exe /fixboot

    BootRec.exe /RebuildBcd
    chkdsk /r

Let us know how you get on from there.
