How do I modify the startup of programs in Win2K during boot up. I have noticed that my boot up process takes forever. During boot-up cpu useage is at 100% and it seems there are numerous programs loaded at start up that I could really do without.

In Win98 I could click on run and type in msconfig to get to an interface that would allow me to set priorities for start menu items during boot up. There apparently is no msconfig command included in Win2k. Any help would be appreciated.

    Manage startup programs

I am wondering the same thing as MaryLou. I've looked aroung and can't find the Startup configuration utility that was in W98.

Check the services applet in the control panel and change the services to manual startup.

Another nice alternate method is to get the freeware program StartupCop . It's great!

    Cheers. :)
