Error message comes up at start of Windows as it is loading.
ERROR MESSAGE: Windows cannot determine what configuration your computer is in. Select one of the following:1. original 2. a:\original 3. none of the above. I usually enter a '1' and the system goes thru its usual paces.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it. This has just started as I recently replaced my monitor with a Dell flat screen. I didn't make any other changes to my system.
Need some help to get rid of the problem as well as the error message. I did not get this when I previously replaced my monitor. I just plugged it in and so be it. I am using Win98 with IE.
    Thanks
    Claire

Somehow, something set up different hardware profiles. To solve this, go into Control Panel, choose System. In the new window that appears, click on the Hardware Profiles tab. Highlight the Profile you do not use, and click on the Delete button.
