Starts up to xp logo then the screen is black

    My laptop starts up to the xp logo then it sounds like the program starts ,but the screen stays black.the xp logo starts in ful colour.I had restored my system last night no i am stuck please help

    Welcome to the BBS!

    Power off.

    As soon as you see it begin to boot back up, way before the windows logo hit F8 about every second until you get a nenu.

    Choose Safe Mode!

    Let us know if in fact you can boot to Safe Mode!

    Just booting into Safe Mode in some cases can correct some problems so if you do reach safe mode then reboot to normal and see if anything has changed!

    I got into safe mode but it only runs through command prompt ,then it stays on prompt and hangs.

    It all happened last night after I restored the system , I can not afford to Format the system. All my Bussiness files is still on and I was supposed to backup before i restored.Please Help I am a auto electrician off trade and play with hardware at times,any car trouble ill try to help.
