I've looked through the options but cannot find how to have YIM launch MINIMIZED (instead of having the list pop-up everytime I reboot my PC). How can I set it so that the YIM starts up minimized?

    Thx.

Mike - since it sounds like you work with a variety of IM products, you might enjoy the forum at BigBlueball.com since they deal exclusively with IM topics.

I just took a look and it seems to be a fairly active forum with some posters who know quite a bit about the products.

Not trying to run you off from here at all but if I did much with IM, I'd certainly be posting there some myself.

Hmm.. registered and went to the url that they sent via email, but it still says that my ID doesn't exist when I try to logon... if I try to create it again says it already exists... seems their database is screwy... sent an email, waiting for their reply.

Go to msconfig / start up tab and remove the check from Yahoo messenger so that it does not run at start up. You will need to start Yahoo messenger manually, which is much better than having this messenger full of exploits loaded on start up. The latest version offered by Yahoo when logging in is not the most stable. The most current stable version of Yahoo messenger can be found here Instructions on how to uninstall and go back to the stable version plus a wealth of information on Yahoo messenger and chat here
