    Hello Nick,

Could you be more specific? Which serivce and what do you want to accomplish?

Do you mean a sevice, such as backing up on schedule?

Or an XP Service such as Automatic Updates which are part of the OS?

If so, taking your question at face value, as far as I know, the answer is no. But if a service that an application added, that may be a different matter. But it wouldn't be the Service that would be subject to scheduling.

    Charles,

It is a service that a software package installed. I starts a program that monitors remote time clocks in another state. On occastion, the software shows that the remote clock is online but at the site is is offline.

I have to stop the clock and the start it back up.

I thought that if I could stop a service and start it back up again it would refresh all clocks.

    Hi Nick,

Ok, is the Service that you refer on this page?

    From Start > run
    type services.msc > ok

    XP's service page comes up.

Scrolling thru the list and right clicking on the line will give you a choice of stopping the service. If its stopped, right clicking again, will now give you a choice of starting the service.
