I must have missed this tip somewhere along the line. Sounds like I knew it but can't remember.

How do you adjust the sound volume of the start up wav files when booting XP pro without having to make the wav file sound after boot real soft? I've got the WAV volume turned down low, but the start up wav is still loud, and it is definitly loader than the WAVs after XP is fully booted. Also getting tired of having to raise the WAV sound to hear digital music and then having to remember to turn it down before reboot so my windows do not get blown out the next time I boot. Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't think so considering the pop is the sound signal from the sound card "stopping" when the pc shuts down.

I do know about XP but I get the Popping sound on boot up sometimes and when shutting down windows.

I also get it when the OS is switching from Windows to a couple of my DOS programs and back. It is at that times it is switching IRQs.
