Hi, I am having trouble with my PC, it runs Windows 98 SE and when I start it up a screen labled C:\Windows pops up and it seems to be interfering with other programs. I don't know how to make it stop and i don't like to fiddle with the settings too much without guidance-for fear of messing something up :)

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

There is nothing showing inside the window/box?

    You can get Hijack This:
    http://www.snapfiles.com/get/hijackthis.html
Follow the instructions for installation and making a readout/log. Post the contents here.

You are using antispyware? Using a second antispyware can pick up things not picked up by the other. Install Spybot, but do not install any monitoring, like Teatimer, if you already have an antispyware program. Run Spybot occasionally as a second check.

Anyway, post a HJT log, that should give us some information about what is running at start-up. We ask for help from one of the experienced log readers if necessary.

    Matt
