I am performing a fresh install of Windows XP Home, Sp. 3. The fourth column in Start-All Programs is partially obscured and the contents are not completely readable. This was not the case previously or in other computers.

What is causing this, and can it be corrected?

Too many folders will cause this;)
Adjusting your monitor resolution will probbaly fix it.

Thanks for the reply. My resolution is 1024x768. I changed it to 800x600 and the fourth column was a little more visible, but not completely.

Before my computer crashed, requiring this rebuild, the fourth column was mostly visible to the extent that you could read the names of the programs. I have a screensave picture of it for comparison. Both had/have the same problem only to a different degree. I don't understand why/how they could be different.

There is plenty of space in the columns for a fourth to be completely visible. I am wondering if there is a parameter in the registry which could make the change.

Display proerties allows you to select a smaller font which would help.

Thank you for the help. I had the font size set to "small" and had not realized there was a custom setting. It is a very touchy adjustment and you have to go at it a percent at a time. 99% put everything in three columns with room to spare and 100% did nothing.
