Whenever I try to go to standby or hibernate I get the message below. I am unable to locate a new driver and the on installed says that it is operating properly.

    System Standby Failed
The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard'
device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications
and try again. If the problem persists. you may need to update this driver.

Here for details on how to troubleshoot this sort of problem or else find the error in your event logs and post exact details here.

If you open the event and press the icon below the up/down arrows it sends a text-only copy to the clipboard and you can just open a reply box and paste there.

Newt, in your reply you mentioned an "EVENT LOG" --just what is a event log and how do I find it.
    Thank you

FYI, there is a MS PRE SP1 patch for problems with Standby and Hibernate.

paul43 - right click on My Computer and left click on "manage ". You will see the "Event Viewer ".

If you don't have the icon on your desktop, start~settings~control panel~administrative tools~computer management will get you to the same place but takes more work. I'm lazy. :D
