.srt File (subtitles)

    I have just downloaded a .avi file which I play on Windows Media player. The audio on the video is in a foreign language (unsure what it is). It seems to have Russian subtitles.
    Included in the zip file on download were 3 .srt files which i assume are subtitle files.
    The names on the video is as follows.

    "Плоды страсти (Les fruits de la passion).1981.DVDRip.avi "

    The three.srt files included inthe folder are named respectively,

    "Плоды страсти (Les fruits de la passion).1981.DVDRip.srt "

    "Fruits de la passion.rus.srt "

    "Fruits de la passion.eng.srt "

    I assume that the third file has the English subtitles in it.

    Can anyone tell me if I can change the subtitles on the video to english by inserting the english one. I am not sure if it is possible, but if it is I would like to know how I can do it.

    Move these two:
    "Плоды страсти (Les fruits de la passion).1981.DVDRip.srt "
    "Fruits de la passion.rus.srt "
    out of the folder.

    Rename:
    Плоды страсти (Les fruits de la passion).1981.DVDRip.avi
    to:
    Fruits de la passion.avi

    Rename:
    Fruits de la passion.eng.srt
    to:
    Fruits de la passion.srt

    Now, any movie player will play the movie with English subs.
    The trick is, the name of movie file, and the name of subs file have to be identical (except for the extensions), and they have to be located in a same folder.
