I have been relatively clean from spyware and adware until recently. I used Adaware and spybot, but suddenly I was being redirected, and thousands of popups would pop up and all that jazz. 3 things I always saw, no matter how many times I deleted them with programs or not, were Ezula, Ad destroyer, and Virtual Bouncer and other things that would come back after I had cleaned with multiple things. Today I downloaded a new antivirus and it helped a bit, but ITs still not perfect. The programs I use are all up to date, CWSshredder, lspfix, Spybot search and destroy, EZ trust EZ antivirus and firewall, adaware se personal, and Highjackthis.
EDIT: Also CWSshrreder always "removes" CWS.Bootconf but it is always there again when I run it. Just looking at this post Ezula Top Text is on a few words.

    Heres the log.

It looks like you have a trojan. (??rvices.exe)

Run an online scan with one or more of these:

HOUSECALL Free on-line Virus Scan http://housecall.antivirus.com/

    Symantec Free Virus/Trojan & Security Checkup http://security2.norton.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=HQFQBMRSJRFSKLUKUMX

PANDA Free on-line Virus Scan http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/

Tauscan Free Trial Trojan Remover http://www.agnitum.com/download/

When you get it cleaned up, post back another log for some of the resident experts.

    anyone?

admin note: I didn't want to put a regular reply on here since I'm not able to help you directly and a reply might slow down others having a look. You have at least one piece of spyware that is really pervasive and difficult to remove and will need an expert. We have several but they may not get to this thread until later tonight or tomorrow. Just be patient. Newt

Make sure you're using Ad-aware SE 1.05, update then install the vx2plugin
    found here.
    http://www.lavasoft.de/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml
Run it as described on that page from inside ad-aware. Reboot.

Scan again with HijackThis and place a check next to the following entries. Close ALL other windows and click fix.

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Right click My Computer and choose properties. On system restore tab, check the box to turn off. OK out.

Go to start>run and type msconfig, hit enter. On the boot.ini tab, check the box next to /safeboot and OK. Yes to restart. This will restart your computer in safe mode. Logon to you user account.

Now in safe mode, you will need to show hidden files and folders, as well as system files and extensions for known file types.

Search the drive for the file systemdev.exe and delete.
Open C:\WINDOWS and delete the file dpvsetup.exe.
Open C:\WINDOWS\system32 and delete the files ??rvices.exe and rrqowr.exe.
Open C:\Program Files and delete the folders PartyPoker and exact if present.
Open C:\Temp if present, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Temp, select all and delete.
Open C:\Windows\Prefetch, select all and delete.
Open C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\temp, select all and delete. Do this for all usernames.
Open the control panel, then internet options and delete the temporary internet files, checking the box for offline content. Then open the Java Plug-in, click the cache tab and then clear.Open Ad-aware and run in full scan mode. Delete all it finds.
Open My Computer, right click Local disk C: and choose properties, then disk cleanup. Check all boxes except compress old files and OK.
Uncheck the /safeboot box in msconfig and ok to reboot.

Run another HijackThis scan and post the log.

I have a gut feeling your AV has been compromised, and were it my machine, I would uninstall, reinstall, update and scan.

so far so good. I havent been redirected or had popups or anything yet (which would usually just come back on restart before). CWSshredder finally doesnt detect anything also.
    To answer your questions:
    1) Yea that proxy was in the box (I had entered it awhile ago and forgot), although the box to use it was unchecked.

    2) Yes I used Spybot to lock my setting because whatever I had before would change them constantly. I use firefox mainly now anyway.

    3) I have used the startup tab of msconfig to stop things like virtual bouncer and ad destroyer to start up, if thats what you are asking. Theres 14 or so boxes unchecked, because they were spyware/adware.

    Thank you again!

Delete the folders for those disabled malware programs (in safe mode if necessary), then recheck the entries on the startup tab (all of them), reboot and fix them with HJT. Reboot and post another log when done.

Also recommend you open Spybot and click mode on the toolbar, then advanced mode. Click immunize in the left pane, then immunize again, this time from above with the green + beside it. Click the link below that for SpywareBlaster, download, install, enable all protection and update. Check for updates regularly. Then, still in Spybot, click tools button, then IE tweaks and at least lock the HOSTS file. Click resident and check the box for SDHelper.
    Then download and install IESpyad.

That will give you some added layers of protection against unwanted parasites.
