I just tried to change ISP's on a different computer. I downloaded a free trial and some viruses and spyware came with it. I successfully removed the trial ISP, but not the viruses and spyware. The spyware and viruses have disabled my anti-virus program. I attempted to re-install my old ISP and anti-virus programs. They will not run properly. Then I went to a restore point and that did not work. Would it best to format my hard drive and start over?

Depends. That's the quick way to get back in business, but you should run fdisk in dos (from a win98 startup disk) first to delete the partition and repartition the drive. Format alone doesn't clean the whole drive.

If you wish to learn more, suggest you download hijacthis by clicking that link on the working computer and then move it to the sick one and put it in a new folder called c:\HTJ. Run it and save log (will be in notepad) and paste into your next post here.
