There are many conflicts being reported with the new version 5.0 of SpySweeper. At the present I have found it interferes with Norton AV, Super Anti Spyware and my Power Schemes. All is well since I closed it down. I had previously uninstalled>rebooted>reinstalled and nothing was solved. I have submitted a trouble ticket to Webroot.

Is anyone else having problems with this version? Other problems reported at the SpySweeper forum deal with McAfee and Ad_Aware. Run Ad_ Aware to see if it operating correctly with SpySweeper.

I have the problem with Adaware scans, they hang forever, turn off SS the run fine.

This latest version is turning out to be pretty rough, all around.

Couple of threads at DSLR forum too.

SpySweeper Vers 5 completely messed up almost everything-
Kept taking down my media center app so could not watch TV on PC until I went thru the entire startup process, several times. This process kept happening - Media center would work then not work. Took me a while to figure out that it was SpySweeper.

At first I was even unable to uninstall SpySweeper, said I did not have privileges.

Went to one Board which had some suggestions as to shields to turn off - that helped some but not enough. If shields kill everything good, why use it?
Kept denying me access to some of my apps and many other problems which just disappeared after I used the System Restore, then was able to uninstall it. - Only way I could even get rid of the X$#* thing.
Hogs a great deal of memory, slows my system way down.

I am even hesitant to go back to previous version which I still have in download form or original on CD from last January.
Did not report to them as too many problems or vagaries which were not that easy to pinpoint as being the program's fault until I got rid of it.

I doubt that I will be purchasing in future when my license runs out.

    Have XP SP2 Media Center
