Spybot update fails - !!! bad checksum !

Version 1.3 on XP-pro SP2 RC2. The last update I was able to download was on 6/23. Update finds one dated 7/09 but the download fails with a !!! bad checksum ! error.

Fairly new OS load on this PC and done after v1.3 was released so I think 1.2 would not been on here.

 

I had this problem too.Check out My "Annoying Toolbar in IE" thread for a solution.
I'm off to try the solution myself now.

 

It works...I have finally updated Spybot 1.3.

I had problems updateing too, I cleared the tick box 2-3 times till it update.
A pain

 

When I received a bad checksum error, I changed the download location and got a good one. This option is located just to the left of the Download Updates button.

 

And here I thought I was just clicking too fast - had the same problem or been having it for a couple of weeks with SpyBot 1.3 installs and discovered as Mark mentioned, change the download site. Been working like a champ.

PS: click the down arrow select a preferd download location right click on it and set as default.

No problem with me Lonnie. Not even sure who stuck it to begin with but there do seem to have been a few of us with the issue so it was probably worth it but lets let it sink slowly away. I'll do an edit rather than a post so it can fade in peace unless someone has something to add. Newt

 

I always have better luck downloading from American servers. Spybot used to freeze up on me if I downloaded updates from the European ones.
