After searching the SB web site and reading the Help file in the program, I still can't apply new skins.

I also can't find the "settings" tab that is mentioned on the web site.

    Any help will be appreciated.

You are probably running the program in easy mode. To have the settings tab available you have to use advanced mode. When you start the program, start it from the spybot group in the start menu. Use the shortcut that says Spybot Search and Destroy (advanced) . If you don't have one, right click on the one you have and choose properties. If the target says something like "c:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.\SpybotSD.exe" /easymode change it to
"c:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.1\SpybotSD.exe" . If that doesn't get you to the advanced mode then change it to "c:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.1\SpybotSD.exe" /advancedmode. One of the two should get you there. When you get at the settings tab you can choose to make an icon for each in the start menu if you want.

    Zander,

A miracle!! I sure didn't see anything about this in the help file or on the site. Before I gave up on their forums, I did see something about this, but it didn't make any sense to me.

Next question.... I checked the "target" on both the advanced and easy mode options. They were both the same. Why isn't this accessible just by looking in the Spybot folder?

    Thanks.

Ive seen the problem with shortcuts change in posts alot, never happend to me though. you run XP i bet ?. the next version soon to be released 1.2.1 will have a mode change within the program.

When you finaly do get one of the shortcuts to function as it should move it to elswhere in the start menu,

when installed for the first time I usualy move the whole folder to accessories and dont let it put one on desktop.

    Regards
    Lonny

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean the Spybot folder in Windows Explorer?

Guess it doesn't really matter if I don't quite understand the first quote. As long as you got it to work for you. ;)

Yep, it is working. I just wondered why I had to go to Start/Programs/Spybot to see that there were two modes. I would have thought that I could have been able to find this in the C:\Spybot folder someplace.

Gads... Now I am confusing myself.

Thanks for all of your help.
