A friend tells me that when he runs Spybot S&D and/or AdAware on his computer, the programs find different things when they're run under different users (their computer is set up for 3 separate users, each with Administrator privileges). I've never even thought to run Spybot or AdAware logged in as the other user on my own computer - I've always assumed the programs were scanning "everything ".
Are there settings that can be adjusted so that the entire hard drive can be scanned from one account, or is it truly necessary to run the programs for each user?
    Thanks!

If you log on as Administrator I would think that all users would be covered. otherwise only the programs, etc to which a specific user has access would be scanned. Could well be wrong here - and it wouldn't be the first time :)

It depends on how it was installed. For example, when installing adaware, there's an option to have it install "for all users" or just the current user. If installed for all users, you will see teh start menu shortcuts in the Docs & Settings\All Users folder.

I have the same situation while running Adaware. It seems that these utils do not scan temp and temporary internet files folders for all other users except for the user who is logged in. So to be better safe than sorry I run these utils on all my user accounts.
