last couple of days spybot has been reporting that windows security center firewall has been disabled
checked on it before running spybot and according to it firewall was enabled
but sure enough up it pops during scan. i "fixed it" i dont know whatelse to do with it. i really didnt know that spybot did that anyway. whatever
but any ideas as to why all of a sudden spybot is reporting the wscfirewall off/disabled when it is on/enabled?

    Hey Jan

Do you happen to have another firewall running?

I have Zone Alarm running which automatically turns off Windows Firewall.

    Jan,
didn't the message say "security center firewall - notify disable" or words to that meaning?

I get three such warnings for firewall - disable notify, automatic updates - disable notify and virus protection - disable notify. This means that in Control panel > Security center the notification for these has been disabled but they may all be present and running.

This is a known bug in Spybot, set those items to 'ignore' and don't worry about it. Some kind of bug with detection.

    thanks for answering y'll
bmoore1129 i have onecare which has its own firewall and i sort of thought that it would have turned off the one in windows security center.

telmerc i went to advanced on spybot and there are about 6 windows security center thingies on the list i checked all since i cant figure out what is what. is that right to get it to stop?

Actually no, when the items are detected, right click each one and set them to 'ignore' or whatever the wording is, it's been a while since I used the ignore feature.

telmerc, exclude is grayed out and i think that is the one i would use to get spybot to quit "catching" the disabled firewall. sorry that is when i right click
    on the items(there are 2 entries,both same)
i'm back in default mode rather then advanced(and i unchecked all of the windows security center boxes) and on my right clicks im really not that knowledgeable about this stuff, there is a deselect and select and under options there is clear list, thats it

i can just continue like i am now and just tell spybot to fix it like i have been doing, everyday since the 22nd of this month.

    thanks for your help
