after trying to setup spybot and adaware to run auto consecutively on boot, i searched the web for help only to be reminded of conflicts between the both.
can anyone recommend best setup for max protection, i already am happy with my corporate edition of norton antivirus trojan hunter, (though would like freeware alternative as this time limited) and zonealarm pro, but would like further advice on setting up automated scan and protect on boot from adaware stuff, spyware stuff Et Al.

    thank you, one and all.

SpywareBlaster 3.2 gives a level of permanent protection against spyware/adware, Microsoft Antispyware Beta gives auto scan, auto update and constant, monitored protection. Both highly recommended.

verdi--Certainly agree with PeteC's recommendation of SpywareBlaster. You should also explore the security settings available in IE, itself.
IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Custom Level. If you need suggestions for the settings, here is one reference, but you can decide differently if you know what you want.

I am not aware of any confilicts between AdAware and SpybotS&D (except possibly that one may detect items in the Quarantine folder of the other). Many people recommend having both installed on your PC. But maybe the issue is "trying to setup spybot and adaware to run auto consecutively on boot ". I have never done that, and could see that if you do not take appropriate actions after one of these programs has scannned before running the other, you could cause problems. Maybe you should just run one automatically, attend to the problems it finds and then scan with the other manually?
