Security Form found that I do not have a virus, trojan, worm, etc and suggested I repost problem in other area. I don't know if this is the correct one or not.

Problem started a week ago with spontaneous rebooting and something hijacking my address book and sending out emails (this has happen twice in a week).

    Can you direct me?

    Thanks

Is your pc randomly rebooting itself? You can go to

Control Panel->System icon->Advance tab->Startup & Recovery Settings button. UNcheck/disable the "auto reboot" option. Instead of rebooting you'll probably get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) which can be searched on for a solution.

You can go to http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 to search on for example: STOP 0x00000050

Give us more info the on the email deal. Is a mail going out to everyone in your address book and your finding copies of the mail in the sent folder?

Thanks for the reply...The email is going out to everyone in address book and copies are in my sent folder. The subject line has a persons name in it (people I don't know) and there is a web address in the body of email. It has done it twice in a week.

AOL email is (AFAIK) a web based system, so your account has been hijacked, there's most likely nothing on your computer related to that problem.

What should I use as for an email account? AOL's help just said to check computer for virus and change my password? I have deleted my whole address book so what ever is going on it can't send out anything.
Thanks for you guys helping. Ya'll are the best and I would think of going anywhere else for help.

You can still use AOL. Changing the password in theory should keep the hacker out.

But if want to switch - www.Gmail.com is a good freebie.
