My wife & I have shared my main PC for her E-mail and browsing. Since she has discovered E-BAY, I get kicked off far too often when she has a bid time come up.

So I just got her a DELL laptop, and I want to put her e-mail/browsing on her PC, taking her stuff off of mine.

I am using Mozilla V1.6 (hey, it works well, and I can't be bothered upgrading at this point)

Both PC's will be under WIN XP Home, and on an 802.11g WI-FI home net.

So, how do I transfer her mail settings, e-mail archive and bookmarks to her laptop, then make her PC only get mail off her server/account. (right now we both get mail off same server/different accounts, but at the same time.)

I figure to install Mozilla v1.6 on her PC, copy over all e-mail and bookmarks, then delete all of ME on her PC, and all of HER on my PC. What files do I copy, what settings changes do I need to make (Mozilla has coded sub-dirs and files)?

Or is there a "simpler" way to do this??

Has anybody actually done this succesfully?

    JGB,

    Install Mozilla on the Dell

As this is a first-time install on the new PC, a new Profile will be created.
Delete that newly created Profiles folder from the Mozilla folder

Replace the newly created Profiles folder with a copy of the Profiles folder from the your PC.

Start Mozilla, and all Profile data should be intact.

Next: delete your Mail Account from the Dell, and delete your wife's Mail Account from your PC.

    OR

If Mozilla is already installed, delete the existing Profiles folder from the Mozilla folder
Replace with a copy of the Profiles folder from your PC
Delete your Mail Account from the Dell

Start Mozilla, and all Profile data should be intact.

That seems easier than I thought.

What about all her e-mails and bookmarks?? Are they all in the profiles folder?

And just where is that profiles folder? Can't seem to find it.

    JGB,

The location of the Profiles folder is here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles

This folder contains all profile information, including Bookmarks, Mail, and Address Book. If you will open your xxxxxxxx.slt folder you will see these files/folders:

    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profile_name\xxxxxxxx.slt

    Thank you again Ramona.

Found all of it. Will do it as soon as I get a hardware fault in the laptop fixed. Waiting for parts.
