I made a mess and had to reformat. Getting all my things together again I have a problem I can't solve.

When I attempt to check the spelling on email, I get this message: "The spell check on this document was halted. Do you want to send anyway? "

I have removed and then reinstalled Word several times and things never change. I have Word 2002 and also Word 97. I'm getting the same thing on each of them.

I don't know how to repair Outlook Express. All my Win Updates are current. I have OE 6.

I've search the board for a problem just like mine and had no luck.

    Sure need some help.

I've been through this myself. Most likely you're missing a file (CSAPI3T1.DLL) or else you have a bad registry entry.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools

In the right pane there should be a value named SharedFilesDir.
The data for the value should be:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\

The drive letter could be different depending on which drive windows is installed on. The value must have the trailing backslash after Microsoft Shared. If that's not the problem, go here for info on CSAPI3T1.dll. You can download the file there if you need it.

Now Jim, you don't actually think I goofed and got lucky; do you? It's just a matter of clicking on the search icon next to his name and having a look at some of Mudds other posts. ;) Whew! Managed to dig myself out of that one. :D
