    5660 Speedstream

    Yes sorry a bit vauge.
I can connect the modem and it functions fine , all the lights come on!!
then i connect my network card but it requires to be configured with the IPS IP address so i can connect to the internet through the modem that is plugged into the net card.
I do not know the IP address of telefonica to enable this?

Or is there a simple way to connect?

    Thanks

Your PC needs to have a valid IP address assigned to it by your ISP.

If your service is thru Telefonica as your ISP, there are two main possibilities
    - static (fixed, not changing) IP address, subnet mask, Gateway address, and DNS server(s) address should have been sent you by the ISP and you set up those values.
    - auto assigned values (via the ISPs DHCP server probably) and if your network card is set to automatically get IP address, subnet mask, etc. you should be taken care of thru the modem connection.

The only difference with the router/switch you mentioned on another thread and the PC is that the router will get the ISP assigned settings and will 'route' all your internal traffic to the internet. But it will need to be set up with the same info as mentioned above.
