speakers don't work after XP install

    I recently upgraded from Windows 98SE to XP Pro and have been doing "fixes" for several days to get everything running correctly. I'm now on the last item on my list, which is that my speakers don't have any sound coming out of them. Does anyone know a "troubleshooting list" I can go through for this?

    No sound

    Details my friend.

    Do you know what soundcard and speakers you have.

    Sometimes its as simple as turning on digital output, but we need to what we are working with.

    Problem solved. Turned out to be a simple matter of re-downloading a driver for the sound card.
